Amazing hotel/ restaurant! The people that run the hotel are lovely and very welcoming. Rooms are nice, clean, and have wonderful little balconies to admire the gorgeous French Basque countryside. I would stay here again no questions asked.

The town and the hotel were magnificent.

Any time we are in or near Guethary we stay here. It has been five years and the excellent standard has not changed. They continuously update where need be. This time it was during a heatwave and the continuously cooled rooms are the recipe for a great night’s sleep, not counting the superbly soft white cotton sheets. Coming back again, that’s for sure.

We visited Hotel La Marisa for three nights in September with friends and chose the hotel based on location and value. It definitely succeeded on both fronts! The location in St. Jean de Luz is perfect - close to the beach plus walking distance of all the main restaurants and shops in the town. Wonderful boutique hotel in St Jean de Luz . Perfect location.

We had a corner room with a balcony on the beach side of the hotel, which was perfect for us. Two windows plus a large glass double door allowed ocean breezes to pass through which was a real treat. The room was very clean, the added breakfast was fresh and healthy with locally sourced breads, juices and cheeses. The room is directly over the beach promenade, which made for some noise from early morning cleaning crews. However the tightly fitting double pane windows will easily block it out if...

Four star that could be a five star. Excellent staff, beautiful rooms, and if you book ocean views from the 3rd floor … be prepared for gorgeous views of the beach and ocean across the street.
