"This is a nice calm place to escape to reconnect with nature and a slower pace of living. There are lots of nature trails to hike. Aveiro and Porto are an hour away, but you have some very unique tourism opportunities about 10 minutes away in S. João da Madeira with their industry tourism and hat and shoe museum!"

"Es war ein wirklich schöner Aufenthalt. Das Ferienhaus ist gut gepflegt und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut mit täglich frischen Brötchen und selbst gebackenen Muffins. Die Gartenanlage besitzt eine eigene Trinkwasserquelle mit sehr gutem Wasser. Aus dem Garten hat man einen atemberaubenden Ausblick über die Berge. Sehr zu empfehlen."

"From when we first arrived, Paula welcomed us into her home. The house is stunning; lots of period charm with traditional features. However, the best feature of this property is the outside living space. Pictures really do not do it justice. "Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."

"Our hosts, Maria Eugenia and Jose, were amazing! Kind, informative, generous, helpful, I can't say enough about them. We stayed for four days, two couples in the larger home. It was spacious, each couple with their own bathroom. We ate most of our meals at home. Our comadre caught a cold right upon arrival. She had a comfortable place to read, rest and recover, while we enjoyed the pool and had such a wonderful outing in the boat on the Douro river. This was definitely a once in a life time...

"What a very cool place! If you like interesting lodging and nature, you will love this place. It is a bit off the beaten path however, so you'll require a car. Definitely take them up on the offer to stay for dinner.
