The Hotel in itself, ignoring the rather idiosyncratic exterior is very good. Nice bar and good public areas. The room we stayed in, Junior suite, was nicely appointed and very well laid out. The only down points were the check-in process. We arrived at 12:30 and thought that we might not be able to check in straight away. We told to come back around 14:30. The guy on the reception was nice and helpful. We wanted to eat but the hotel restaurant wasn't open until 14:00. Not great for a 4 star. So we left and not being able to find anything in the area went into the centre. We returned at 14:40. The next guy who dealt with us seemed clueless. Asked for all the information we had already given and without an apology told us the room was not ready due to late check-outs. Check out time is 12. I took issue with this at which point his colleague. Blond and glasses early 60's to also become involve and regurgitating the ' its in the T&C's ` in quite an aggressive manner. 5 mins later we were told the room was now ready. The rest of the stay was great but a bad checking in process is never good and looking at previous reviews I think they might be understaffed however becoming annoyed and wanting to argue with guests is never a good look. Sort the staffing out and the hotel is a winner

This is a nice hotel located in Meidling. You have access to the U4 subway just across the street. The Schönbrunn palace is just a stop away on the subway. You can buy groceries across the street and there are numerous places to eat in the immediate vicinity. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel overall is nicely taken care of. My room was facing the subway with a nice view. With the windows closed one can hardly hear the street or subway. My room was clean and nicely furnished with a large TV and a small fridge and a safe. Unfortunately the A/C was not working, or the hotel shut the cooling feature off to save energy. That made it hard for me to sleep because I needed to open the window overnight to get some cool air in, along with it came the noise from the street and subway. My other gripe with my room was that the grout in the shower appeared to not have been cleaned in a long time. I rate this hotel a 4/5. If the bathroom were cleaner and the A/C worked definately would rate a 5.
