Villena Vacation Packages
Madrid, the country's capital, is situated 200 miles (322 kilometers) northwest of Villena, while Alicante lies 12 miles (19 kilometers) to the southeast.
Valencia is a well-established travel destination, which means getting from A to B is relatively easy. Make sure you give yourself some time to tour the many things to see and do the region has to offer. Monforte del Cid and Ontinyent are two more places worth seeing while you're in Valencia.
Organise your transportation and spend half a day in Elche, a major city for the region, located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) away from Villena. This bigger city offers plenty of points of interest, such as Palmeral of Elche, Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero and Santa Maria Basilica. Huerto del Cura and Altamira Palace are other good spots to visit.
If the rain clouds roll in, don't panic, Valencia is home to some terrific history museums, palaces and art museums, that will keep you entertained. A good way to really get a sense of a destination is by getting an understanding of its history. While here, take the time to drop into the area's historic palaces.
Should you hear the call of the wild, follow the lead of local thrill seekers and spend a few hours hiking and horse riding. Water-based sports are a common pastime here. Take the opportunity to go sailing or wind surfing; this area has some great areas for it.
As your time here draws to an end, spend what's left of your euros on that last souvenir and bid a fond Adiós (farewell) to the locals you've met and the special places you have seen.
