The main floor hallway smelled like what could only be described as wet dog. The primary elevator was broken. The main reason for choosing this hotel was the advertised two swimming pools. The outdoor pool was not available or filled. The indoor pool was freezing cold. There was gravel, sand and other debris in the pool. There was never any water shooting out of the jets in the pool. I’m not even sure that there was an active filtration system, in hindsight. There was the bare minimum amount of towels available at any given time. In the room, the bed “frames” were sheet metal boxes, too large for the mattresses, that sounded like file cabinets every time you moved in the bed. I hit my shin several times on the overhang. The balcony view might have been nice overlooking the patio and outdoor pool had it not served as a constant reminder of the unavailable but advertised amenity filled with green sludge. There was no restaurant. The only working vending machine I could find only feature two different kinds of skittles and peanut M&Ms. Don’t expect it to look like the pictures in the listing.

Room was clean & comfy. You could hear street traffic and the people above us for most of the night. Towels & sheets were soft and clean. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, so it took awhile to see in the mirror and everything was moist. Front desk girl was welcoming and had a great smile and attitude. She was the best!

The pool was not open or the restaurant and bar! The place was still under renovation. At breakfast they had only scrambled eggs! Sausage gravy but no biscuits! No breakfast meat at all! They said it’ll be a year before the restaurant/ bar would be opened! The room was nice but the air conditioning was very noisy and the tub drained very slowly.

Breakfast was hot, biscuits and gravy and eggs and sausage alternating with potatoes. And waffles and oatmeal and other typical breads, bagels, were other choices. Clean. Desk clerk always quickly filled up milk and brkf items whenever I asked or let him know something ran out. It was very quiet. Curtains do nice at darkening room at night, which I loved. The a/c felt so good at night. It didn't take long to figure out the right setting. We never took baths, but the shower had nice heat and water pressure. The elevator was even fast, quiet, and modern or newer-feeling. 3 pillows (I always bring my own knowing I like extra) on each bed and a light but warm comforter, especially for summer. I was there for a week convention/festival that was a 20 min drive. This motel was nicer than expected and it also smelled smoke-free (usually our price range of motels that are called smoke-free smell of awful cig smoke and pot so this motel was refreshing.
