Lake Wedowee Privacy

Our beautiful vacation home is located north of the town of Wedowee on the big Tallapoosa River of Lake Wedowee. It is located at the end of a 2 mile gravel road. We have four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. It is a little confusing to find the place and we will get you there with great directions if you decide to stay. The house is fully stocked and includes 2 kitchens, 2 family rooms, 3 covered porches, laundry closet with washer and dryer, lake gazebo but no boat, you can bring your own or use the kayaks we have down at the dock. This is very private with only one neighbor. Enjoy the scenery, paddle up river about 10 minutes and view the eagles nests in trees standing in the water. There are 2 additional blow up mattresses if you have more than 10. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to town to the grocery store. Well behaved pets are welcome. The dogs usually love to hang outside anyway. There is so much for them to do.

The house is three levels. Main floor includes master bedroom and bath with access to porch, family room, half bath, laundry closet, eat-in kitchen, back porch with dining, daybed for naps, wicker seating area and front porch. Upper level includes 2 bedrooms for seven and a large bath with double sinks. Lower level includes bedroom with queen and daybed, large bathroom with shower only, family room, additional kitchen and access to large covered porch.

Beautiful Wedowee Lake House
It was a perfect place for our family of 12 to enjoy the lake and each other! Everything was great except for the road getting in and out! Pretty rough! The added touch of fresh flowers was awesome!

Great place for a family experience.
Pros: large home with beautiful views, canoes, fire pit and fishing gear, well stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, 3 decks with seating overlooking the lake., owner responded quickly to questions. Cons: downstairs microwave not working, downstairs shower not working, well water has a very strong iron taste, dog hair needed to be cleaned up.

Great getaway
The home was amazing with beautiful views! Everything was very clean and the home was well stocked. We really enjoyed swimming & kayaking. The lake is beautiful! Kim was great & very accommodating as we had to make a change with our dates. I would recommend traveling in a SUV or truck because the driveway is steep.

House was the right size. Outside was nicely done.
The house was the right size for our family. It had the right number of beds. Was very surprised to see 2 rope beds, which my daughter and her husband wouldn’t sleep on. They said they were not comfortable. The house was not as clean as it needed to be and the outside bed has covered in dog hair. Owner did respond quickly saying her mom was in the hospital and she sent something else to clean. The drive in was a little more than we expected but we had no problem since we were in a truck.

Out of town family met for family reunion
Beautiful property, very quiet, well stocked with everything you need. We stayed with other family members from out of state and we cooked to take food to a large family reunion, had everything we needed. Kids loved the boat dock and canoe.

Great lakefront property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was provided that we needed and loved being right on the water. The drive out to the house was a bit more intense than expected(especially with boat trailers). We made one run into town for groceries so we didn’t have to drive that road much. Other than that it was perfect.

Awesome place!
This house far exceeded my husband's and my expectations. The pictures just don't do it justice. The house is exceptionally clean, and the kitchen is so well stocked! (Not often you find a rental house that actually has corningware.) The house is very spacious and well decorated. The bed in the master bedroom on the main floor was extremely comfortable. The linens and towels are of really good quality and there are plenty of them! Right on the lake it is a beautiful setting with ample seating outside to enjoy it. We would love to come again sometime.

Thanksgiving 2021
The bedrooms were laid out perfectly for our group. The home is really great and had all we needed. The basement shower was not functional and the thermostat was not working. But we managed and made lots of memories and had a lot of laughs. The 2 miles of dirt roads to get there were a little challenging so I would suggest 4 wheel drive if rainy weather. The house was great because it allowed our children and their families to be together in one place while spending Thanksgiving at my niece’s in Franklin, GA.

Wonderful Getaway!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every aspect of this property was amazing!!! There’s plenty of room for everyone to gather together AND plenty of spaces to have a spot all to yourself to read a book or take a nap. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. We spent most of our time enjoying the pier and beautiful lake. Having access to kayaks and a canoe was a wonderful bonus. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, and well stocked kitchens, yes kitchens, with plenty of fridge space made this trip easy and relaxing. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Relaxing weekend
My wife and I visited for our anniversary and really enjoyed the house. It is very private and the views are beautiful. We really enjoyed taking out the canoe in the mornings, and sitting by the fire pit In the evening. If you are looking for a quiet retreat this is the place.

Beautiful view on river but difficult to get to.
Nice home that needs some minor updates but overall plenty of room for a family of four. I’m sure with even more people the space would have been fine and anybody could have a great time. Just a word of caution do not bring your boat or your trailer up that hill through the dirt and gravel roads, while we had plenty a room at the dock getting the boat to the house and storing the trailer was quite a chore. Picked up a nail somewhere on the trail had a flat tire but changed it and away we went. It would really be a good idea for the owner to invest into a water softener and filtration system as the well water is straight out of an iron ore deposit...I rode into town and bought a non-stick skillet and four wine glasses at the dollar store as none of those were supplied. Another word of caution is to make sure you bring enough food because you sure do not want to go into town and up that rugged trail in the dark. Other than those minor setbacks we had a great time.

This is an amazing home, wonderful home owners and much more than we expected!
Everything was wonderful! The only con was the inside water smell. I’m not certain if it’s common to the area or just this property. It smelled like wet dog and sulfur? But otherwise absolutely perfect! Plenty of towels and they even provided fishing poles and tackle for us to use! I am glad we brought a 4x4 because after it rained we used it to get in and out of the steep driveway. The locals were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Also, we went to the local bar and grill to eat and it did not disappoint!

Thanksgiving at the lake
This is a great cabin and was exactly as advertised. The location was great and very pretty. I was able to bring my boat to the dock after about a 15 minute ride down the river and the fishing is very good. The kitchen was very well stocked with various dishes, pans, pots, etc. Having two refrigerators was handy as well. Internet was slow there and it is on well water, but the property description mentions both up front so no surprise. Only negative was no ESPN!! Lots of movie channels and hundreds of DVDs to watch, but missing ESPN on a football weekend was tough.
