“Check in was easy and quick. Room was nice and modern, with hardwood floors, definitely a big improvement over grungy carpet. Bed was very comf, and bathroom was immaculate. Breakfast was good, nothing special but definitely substantial enough to start off your day. All around good experience, would definitely stay again when in the area.”

“I reserved the historic city view option , and what I actually got was a view of the roof, the a/c units and maybe the view of the roof of ONE of the historic buildings. The staff was amazing, however for the price that we paid we should have gotten a discount since we didn’t get the view that we paid for. If you select a historic view option, make sure you are not in rooms 312, 310, or 308.”

“The room is clean, but the soundproofing is very poor—you can hear people chatting in the next room very clearly. Those who have trouble sleeping should be especially aware that the refrigerator is very loud. Since it’s a freezer model, there’s a loud gushing sound every ten or so seconds. Even if you unplug the refrigerator, the noise won’t stop immediately; it won’t stop until the freezer compartment returns to room temperature.”

“Hotel Lela is convenient and well maintained, but the staff were really the stars of our stay- we were welcomed warmly and each staff person we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. The double queen room is pretty spacious and even though we were facing Market St., the room was quiet and we slept like babies. I'll be staying at Hotel Lela when I'm in Wilmington going forward!”

“Nicole was very helpful when fixing our keys when they wouldn’t work! Any time she would see us out and about she would ask if we needed anything! Very polite and courteous! Would stay here again! It was an awesome to have a place for our service animal to go and hang out! (as well as others who have pets) very pet accommodating! ”

“We loved this gem of a property. It was perfect for our long weekend away. Close to the beach, friendly staff, free in guest laundry and bikes, and a lovely pool set up for relaxing or playing poolside games. We took full advantage of the bikes and cruised all over the island. The room was large and had a full kitchen for us to cook our own meals. The bed was very comfortable and the whole place was very quiet at night. Highly recommended!”
