9.4/10 Exceptional! (1,002 reviews)
We were notified by a voicemail on Friday, Aug. 7th, 2 days before our Sunday, Aug. 9th arrival ( I still have the voicemail from that call ) stating that the “elevators were going to be out of service during our stay” and that we could cancel “penalty free” if needed. Mind you, we booked our stay months in advance and already had in place our dog sitter, my husband’s time off work, and our piggy back stay in Santa Cruz booked for Friday, on our way home. I didn’t see any problems with using the stairs.
We checked in on Sunday, and Monday morning we awoke to loud concrete sanding beneath our room. The construction, blocked pathways, and drilling the pool door locks continued throughout our week stay. We were never notified about this, just that the elevators were going to be out of service. We checked out on Friday feeling frustrated and cheated out of our relaxing vacation.
To be fair, they gave us 2 free nights.
I feel that does not begin to make up for the poor communication from the start, obstacles, loud construction, and all of the inconveniences that we faced during our stay. We would have loved to be offered another 5 night stay at a significantly discounted rate. My husband and I planned, took time away from work, paid full in advance and looked forward to a relaxing vacation together. We made the best of it, but definitely didn’t get what we paid for.
So disappointing.
