The property is older but seems well maintained. However, it’s time for a refresh! We love the balcony room!!! However, the young lady at check-in was not friendly nor helpful. We were so excited to be here and looking forward to our overnight stay, but the first impression makes it, or breaks it! She kinda ruined it for us. She was very businesslike, but no warmth or personality whatsoever! After two weeks on the road from California traveling through the south, hospitality is definitely better in the south. And it’s a shame, I’m from Wausau, WI.

Our stay at The Vue was very nice! Beautiful view, though our rooms window was a bit dirty on the outside, maybe they could hire some window washers. :) No other issues

Just OK. Lady at front desk was a snarky "I want to speak with your manager" type. Arrived a little after 2pm...the lady at the front desk was very assertive that check in is at 4pm and she would not be able to accommodate an early check in...on a Sunday...during the off season. Do better...this is the hospitality industry. If the lady at the front desk can not be hospitable and at least a little pleasant...then she's in the wrong business.

I attempted to request a new room (current room was on top floor) due to a few Pigeons that appeared to be nesting on the roof, that kept me up while napping and early morning. When I went to Recepentionsit to request a new room, she informed me that I did not know what birds I was talking about, and that it was a "mourning dove" and that they should be quitet by dusk. She also informed me that she knew better, since she lived in the woods and that I didn't know what I was talking about since pigeons weren't in the Wisconsin Dells area. To minimize the situation, I walked away and allowed her recommendations to be the course of action. After waking early the next morning due to the bird noises, I proceeded to the receptionist to inform her of the mishaps from the bird and the experience with the staff member. The staff member the next day was very kind and took my complaint, and informed me that they could not provide any type of refund, but that the manager would be in touch to speak with me about their employee. But after 3 days, I have not received an email or phone call.

I very much enjoyed the view of the river, the patio and bar/restaurant is a nice atmosphere. The breakfast is outstanding!!! I did however not enjoy the size of the room's bathroom and its oldness. The bathrooms need improvement & remodeling bad.

This was our third stay. Always a good stay. This time was a bit different. Site said we get free tickets to zoo in town with our stay. Upon checking in-i asked about the tickets and was told the zoo was closed and they were not allowed to give them out until the zoo opened for the season. We drove by the very next day and they were in fact open. So wasn’t happy about that. Stopped in the restaurant for breakfast. Was served water and proceeded to wait 20 minutes and nobody came to the table. No coffee offered. Nothing. So we walked out.

Right now they are only open by appointment, for VIP tours. Our website states zoo tickets are only available May-October. We apologize for any issues with the restaurant. Love the view and the food at the restaurant wasn’t bad. I checked in with two kids one 6 months and the other 2 years old. When we travel and stay in hostels we bring our own pack n play so we don’t risk having the baby sleep in the bed with anyone. They were aware that we were checking in with two adults and two kids. The room had no place to set up the pack n play other than in the bedroom. So mom got little to no sleep the time we spent. Room was way to small only had space for the two queen beds.

Can't beat the view. Walking distace to old downtown. Great staff. Nice bar and restaurant. Poor lighting and space in bathroom area. Thin and rough washcloths and towels.

Overall nice place on the river with a pretty view. The rooms were a bit dated in the bathroom. The pool area has a sauna and hottub, but the ceilings above the pool is in rough shape. The staff was super friendly and I would stay there again.

Not sure what happened with the hot tub, because we have no complaints or maintenance issues listed for the days you were here.
