The location of the hotel is excellent: It is located in the city centre of Zurich, in the Niederdorf quarter, the historical part of the city on the Limmat, in District 1. The tram lines 4,6,7 and 10 take you to the Central from the main train station. The hotel is 4 minutes walk from Central along Zähringerstrasse. Or you can take trams 4 or 5 from Central to Rudolf-Brun Bridge stop. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from there.
The room has a safe and a Nespresso machine.
The only complaint is the noise. My room was facing the street which had various bars on it, one of them exactly opposite my room. The people were gathering outside the bar having very loud conversations until the early hours of the morning.
The hotel should really invest in noise insulation, e.g. triple glazed noise cancelling windows and some extra insulation in the walls.
The breakfast was good. I was impressed by the extra hygiene measures they had taken: You need to and get your rolls and croissants from an assistant who hands them to you on a plate, the cheeses are packed individually, the hams and salamis are pre-packed in small portions on plates which are then packed in some cling film, the muesli is prepacked and in cling film etc. The variety of breakfast was good. I was a bit disappointed that the assistants bringing in the coffee and orange juice to the table did not mention to me the fact that you could also get scrambled eggs. I only found that out when I saw some other people having them.
