"The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the mattress was hard as a rock and you could feel all the springs. Otherwise this was such an excellent stay. Easy walk into the historic town centre. Very clean. Beautiful ocean views. The staff was lovely. The breakfast was great. The pool was so cute and a nice bar next to it to have a cocktail next to the pool. Overall such a wonderful experience."

"Hotel was in walking distance to many places in the city. Amenities were very adequate. Front desk staff and custodial staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, even arranged taxi for us. Breakfast was very good, offered an excellent variety of foods, and a continental breakfast beginning at 5 am for folks with early departures. Dining room supervisor was helpful in getting ice for me. One waitress was quite unfriendly. I highly recommend this hotel."

"I was solo travelling. Stayed for a week. I liked the location. Downside is breakfast not included and parking not included. Upside is there is a great grocery store next door and parking on street is free you just need to find spot. Location is good access to highways for sightseeing the island. Hotel overall is good. I would suggest booking ahead to get better pricing and be specific to request bed type (ie: king/queen size single bed instead of two singles)."
Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico

"The location of this grand hotel cannot be beat and neither can their excellent service from the front desk team. Decor is classy and well kept. The bar and restaurant food and drinks were exceptional for lunch and dinner and all types of drinks (Beer, Wine, Spirits, and NA). We had an Ocean View room with a nice terrace and seating. Location is very close to lots of restaurants, the public pool, and the public beach right across as well as biking/walking trails and the main docks/marina for tours and cruises. The only misses were the included breakfast which has good selection but is only ok quality and service. The fitness/pool areas which were closed. The fitness place next door was available but was quite poor and lacked much equipment. A disappointment after their exercise facility in Terceira at the same hotel company was best in class. I would definitely stay again and recommend the hotel, but bring a TRX or pay to workout somewhere else."

"The staff is very helpful and attentive. Location was perfect close to walking trails, location is great but need a car of you plan on seeing the island which I highly recommend. We would stay here again"

"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Ponta Delgado. The room was clean and the bed very large. The pool and hot tub is probably the hotel's greatest asset - along with the staff who were very friendly and helpful. It was a joy to stay there and very close to the town centre too. At an affordable price we were very happy to spend 5 days. The breakfast area is very clean and we enjoyed breakfast but could do with a bit of a facelift. It has the feel of a canteen rather than hotel breakfast area and some love and attention would benefit it. We loved the pancake machine! Would have liked to take it home. All in all a great hotel and very useful for seeing the rest of the city and the wonderful island."
