Staff were friendly, check in easy, facilities clean, comfortable and with all you'd expect. Not close enough to town to walk, but 2-3 mins drive, closer to hospital. Met our needs, happy to stay again and to recommend. NB: NOT wheelchair accessible.

Sadly the bathroom badly needs a renovation- it is very small - & very outdated, cold & draughty - a shower curtain certainly doesn't add to the amenities. Sign at reception said open from 7.30am to 9.00pm, but on checking out at 9.45am the door was locked. There was a box for key returns, but we were going to return the $10 note found in the garden next to our car - but no-one to give it to unfortunately.

Good for pit stop

It’s good for an overnight day and all we need it for the night. The room has very weird smell bu we weren’t fussy about it because it’s just one night stay. The room has decent size and only a couple of minutes to drive to the shops.

I would of been a whole lot better if they put us up in back rooms that weren’t being used only 2at front away from the main road going back on the highway Overall disappointed with my selection next time I’m trying Bega Motel same price and see what happens Got hardly any sleep at all back home now after 3 hours drive and disappointed in what I got for $169 I’ll be shopping around a bit harder next time believe me

South Town Bega Motel

Just recently renovated, everything was updated, clean and shiny. Good size room with comfortable bed and the lighting was excellent. Some motel rooms are so dark! TV reception was terrible but probably not their fault. Did need more towel rails in the bathroom. Local info on where to eat would have been welcome.

Lovely ladies run this place, very helpful and generous with the little packs of bikkies! Salt water pool, though small, was enough to cool off in on a hot day. However the mattress was way too firm for me so I didn't sleep, but my husband had no such complaints. The sofa was too low and uncomfortable to sit on too. There were no light blocking curtains or blinds so too much light coming into the room at night. Not much sound dampening either so noisy neighbours can be heard. However, we've stayed a couple of times now while visiting relatives and would do so again. I just take an eye mask, earplugs and mattress topper. Why? Because you get what you pay for and for budget motels, it's pretty good. It's only a short drive into town for good food, it's close to the hospital and to my relatives. The cheapest petrol in town is a block away, and it's close to the highway without going through town, so if you're exploring the coast you've got a good start. A couple of rooms I think have flat doorways from the parking space, for mobility access. No views to speak of. No breakfast but kitchenette if needed. Go to cafe evolve or the red cafe for breakfast and the pearl Chinese restaurant for dinner - they also do excellent fish and chips and other Aussie meals. So this place has all you need. Definitely give it a try.

While the staff were very friendly and accommodating, my overall experience was disappointing. Upon collecting the keys, I walked into reception and was immediately met with a strong curry odor, which was quite unpleasant. Unfortunately, my room was located right next to reception, and the smell had permeated the space, making it difficult for me and my fellow travelers to relax. I had to sleep with the window open, which meant dealing with noise from passing pedestrians, and my companions couldn’t do the same because their window screen was broken. Additionally, there was no designated parking spot for my room and no mini refrigerator provided. To their credit, the staff did assist in resolving both issues, which I appreciated. However, after an eight-hour drive from Melbourne, I expected a more comfortable stay. Overall, I was very disappointed.

Why say you can get breakfast and dinner but you cant. When paying your bill you go to give them your card and thay have already taken it out if your account, so that is not paying for it when you get there. Office hours are only from 7.30 to 9.30am so if you bget there after 2pm there is no one there.
