You'll be spoiled for sightseeing choice when visiting Cooktown. Bicentennial Park is a good place to begin here, but there are many other interesting spots to discover. Mount Cook National Park, Cooktown Botanic Gardens, and Grassy Hill Lookout are not far from the recreation and green space and will top off your day nicely.

How some live! Endeavour River #NationalPark in Cooktown, #Australia - about a year ago, just 3 weeks after Cyclone Ita ravaged the area. Most of this park is accessible only by boat and that's how I was able to take this photo with my iPhone5s. Took a little tin boat tour of the Endeavour River. Saw a wide variety of spectacular mangroves, a few boat wrecks and this moored yacht. It was peaceful and undeveloped; the boat operator said that there were about 35 different species of mangrove.
