When you've visited all of the great attractions in Hongmei, there's plenty more to see in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. These are some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Ocean Park and loads of other interesting sights in Hong Kong. From Hongmei, it's around 60 miles away.
• Why not check out the wonders of Kowloon too? Popular attractions in this colorful city include Harbour City. Kowloon is roughly 60 miles from Hongmei.
• Spend time in nature and inhale the fresh air at Danxia National Park. You'll find it roughly 140 miles from Hongmei.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in China, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. Also consider that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before you drive off the lot. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or go off-roading with a rental car.
