Once you've ticked off the fabulous sights in Ibiza, there's loads more to explore in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, toss your luggage in the trunk and get out on the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we think you'll love:

• Make your way to Toledo for a fantastic sightseeing adventure. About 45 miles from Ibiza, it has loads of great sights such as Toledo Cathedral.
• Why not check out all that's on offer in Segovia too? Major tourist attractions in this buzzing city include Segovia Aqueduct. Segovia is about 45 miles from Ibiza.
• Make tracks to Malvarrosa Beach for a day out in nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Ibiza, it's roughly 190 miles away.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Spain, then you may need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You must be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before getting behind the wheel. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with your rental car.
