“Obtaining entry information was challenging. There were several household items in need of repair (a curtain rod, a chair, and an outdoor chair). Most disappointing was that we had to check out a day early because of an impending snowstorm that would create hazardous road conditions. I advised our host and requested a full or partial refund, which was declined. However, VRBO did provide an immediate refund for that early departure, which I am grateful for. “It was so dirty that we did want our golden doodles sitting or laying down in the floors. Flat surfaces had not been wiped off and showed sticky areas and cup marks. There were spiders in the kitchen. Baseboards and corners were filthy. My husband and I turned around, walked out and went to a Fairfield Inn and Suites for five nights. The owner disagreed with our assessment & would not return our money. She/he kept saying they had personally inspected it after being cleaned and deemed it……

“We had a fantastic time. Beautiful, clean, and all the comforts of home. Loved the beach and swimming in front of the property! We didn’t get to use the hot tub, kayaks and paddle boats but it’s wonderful to have for those who would like them, or if we had more time. We love the Wellwood and Backfin Blues for dining. Dave and Barb are wonderful hosts that reached out during stay. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage. Thank you for hosting us! ”
