This is a bare-bones hotel, so don't expect frills or amenities, but it was extremely convenient, safe, quiet, and perfectly comfortable for a three-day stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, if a bit shabby (chipped paint, non-working shades, cheap area rugs, etc.). We loved the historic and charming lobby and stairwells and wish that they kept the historic details throughout the rooms and rest of the hotel (room and bathroom flooring are sadly modern and out-of-place). Fantastic location between Grand Central and Times Square." That’s a huge plus if you plan on traveling all over the city. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself staying here again unless the price happens to be an amazing deal. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. The bathroom, specifically the bathtub, was gross. Again, it wasn’t the worst place to stay but I expected better after reading everyone else’s reviews. Maybe I went on a bad week, I don’t know.
