Come explore what Southern Illinois has to offer for your next family getaway! The "GATE HOUSE AT THE LAKE" has it all! 3 bedrooms with 1 king bed (master), 1 queen bed (2nd bedroom), 2 queen beds (brand new 3rd bedroom), 2 pull out queen sleepersofas (family room), 1.5 baths, Beautiful great room with screened in back porch, Dock with electricity, Beautiful Lake Views facing the main lake channel, Fire Pit, Wifi, Outdoor Grill, garage, Washer/Dryer, Flat Screen TV's/DVD player, Direct TV including the Sports Package, Fully stocked (just bring food and toiletries), all new furniture. The home is on one level with only one step to get into the home. The land is flat to the dock with no steps!!!!

The house has been freshly painted, brand new A/C, new kitchen cabinets and countertop, and new tile on the patio. New front exterior and new third bedroom are now complete in 2021!!!!!!!!!

There is dedicated internet for each of our guest homes!!!! 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up and also a second line that is shared between our 3 homes that is an additional 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up!!!

We also rent the house directly next door which has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and sleeps 8 also (vrbo 710693)!!! And we have another home just down the street with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths (vrbo 9134691ha)! Ask about renting multiple homes for a discount!!!! All of our homes are located at the mid point of the lake. See the attached photo showing the location of all our rental homes at the lake.

Boat rentals are available around the lake. Check out https://lakeofegyptpontoonrentals.com and tell them Roman sent you!!!

Macks Marina and Egyptian Hills Marina also have boat rentals and you can launch your boat from both of them and also Pyramid Acres for a small fee.

We do provide two kayaks and two paddleboards for each home. Please bring your own life vests as we do not provide those.

We do require a $100 Damage Deposit. This will be returned to you immediately upon our cleaning team reporting no damage, no excess cleaning, and no excess trash.

Lovely Lake View and Access

This lakeside home was a nice get away. Star/Sky watching, gorgeous lake, Fern Clyffe State Park has trails, including wooded trail circling lake and walks to a natural waterfall. Enjoyed the quiet and wildlife.

We booked this because my youngest goes to a camp in Carbondale for a day and don’t feel like making the 8 hour round trip drive. House was clean on the inside, right on the lake, check in was easy, communication was great.

This house is advertised as able to sleep 10, but if you have ten you’d be constantly fighting over the one bathroom. It was 100 a night so it was definitely worth it, but I wouldn’t pay anymore. Beds were fine. Deck was not cleaned off. It also looked like a DIY cheap remodel. That being said, for 100 a night, and if you want a fishing cabin for the guys this is a good pick. It has a nice dock for your boat also.

Beautiful escape

I really love how peaceful the house and the area are. Very beautiful views of Lake Egypt. I love also how close it is to a bigger city like Marion so you can go shopping at Walmart or even go to Carbondale for shopping. I also love how it’s close to a lot of different/beautiful trails. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. We really didn’t want to leave and go back to reality. Must stay.

Great place with great views

This place has a very spacious living area. When we first walked in all the children commented on the big living room and views of the lake. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The property owners talked to me by phone, which is rare and provided me with a number in case of questions. We had a nice time here and would definitely rent from them again.

Great stay at Lake of Egypt

Great property on a quiet Lake of Egypt cove...house was nice and roomy, with 4 beds in 3 bedrooms, a huge great room, and we'll equipped kitchen. Only drawback is having only one bathroom...if you have more than 4 people, that might get tough. Could use another, tbh. Deck and screened in porch were great. House was nice and clean when we arrived, and the check-in/out process was easy. Only criticism would be some wear and tear that could be addressed..broken trim on kitchen floor that I stubbed my toe on 10+ times, etc. Small complaint though!

Lake Egypt

We walked in it smelled so good and it was very clean. It had a large kitchen, dining room, and living room space. Some of the deck boards need to be replaced and the bedroom off the kitchen needs rails for the steps down. The place was listed as having a full bath and a half bath but there was only a full bathroom. You have different levels of firmness to the beds so you can lay on them until you one you like. The people that set up the stay were friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely stay. Thank you❤️ Overall a lovely stay.

Girls Trip

This is the 3rd time my ladies hiking group has stayed in this house. Great house with fantastic sunset views. Will no doubt stay there again. The only issues we had were no extra linens, and no detergent for the dishwasher and the half bath had some tiles that were loose and higher than the others. Linens and detergent were brought to the house the first night after being requested. The floor felt soft in that bathroom. hopefully this will be fixed by our next visit. Overall we had a great trip. 5 other houses in the same area were rented by our group also.

Lakeside Cottage

Check in was fast and easy. The house has been remodeled but in doing so the half bath was removed leading to half our group renting an additional property to avoid the 1 bathroom congestion, we had not been notified of this change. Issues and resolutions: The grill was missing the tank and dirty. We had a fresh tank and new brush delivered fairly fast. We were missing a kayak 2 paddle boards and paddles. They had migrated to the next door property and we had access to them before the you ger people had time to get in the water. Septic started slow running and was cleaned out an hour or so after calling. While we had these issues customer service was top notch in taking care of us. The screen room was the most used room as the bugs were biting after dark. Fishing was good and the neighbors nice. We would rent again.

Great location but bad experience

The house is located in a cool spot on the lake. Plenty of room for parking. Upon entering the house and sitting on the couch for the first time, I was stung by a wasp. I then realized that there were wasps throughout the house. Some dead and many alive. They were on the ground, walls, ceiling, furniture, and windows. After contacting the property manager I was not offered any immediate help. The next day, the maintenance worker brought by some wasp spray which I thought was extremely unsatisfactory. I figured they would offer to come inside and dispose of and clean up the wasps. They did not seem to care much. Communication was very poor at this point. They did nothing to try and remedy the situation. I tried calling their “office” phone as well but never got an answer. I was never offered a discount or anything of the sort. After finally killing all of the wasps we were able to enjoy a little peace. The kitchen stove is all out of whack though. The burners are not level and hard to cook on with consistent heat. Overall, don’t expect much from this house in the way of cleanliness, amenities, communication, or guest support. But the location is great.

Property Not As Advertised; Major Safety Fiasco

We have stayed in this property before and while it’s never clean, it does have Lake access without many steps, a nice screened in porch, and kayaks. We just clean when we get there. However, this year we arrived and found that the second bathroom (the half bath of the 1.5 bath listed) was locked and had a sign on it that said “utility closet.” We know this was a misrepresentation since we have stayed there before. This bath is important for our group of nine as we have mixed families, older folks, younger folks, and I don’t want to send my tween daughter into the bath when her grandfather is showering. We needed the extra half bath. The management should have disclosed in advance since they admitted they knew. When I reached out for a solution, they offered for us to use a bathroom of a house that the owner also rents next door. I accepted the solution, even though it was not what we paid for. The next day when we went in at 6:30 am to use the bathroom in this other unit, there were cans on the counter ans people asleep in the beds! We scared the crap out of them by entering a unit with the key the owners had given us. It was quite a scene. Once everyone calmed down, they told us they had been told by the same management company that they could use unit 151B because the refrigerator in their property upstairs wasn’t working. This was a major fail that endangered our safety. Owner refused to offer a partial refund for the fraudulent listing and the danger we encountered.

Million dollar lake view, on active cove in July, nice neighbors. Their team is outstanding starting with Leon and receptionist-our small issues promptly fixed. Large older home with all you need.

This was a beautiful and very clean property. There were some very soft spots on the decking leading to the stairs on the patio. Wood was rotting and primary bathroom closet door was broken (track issue). Loved my stay at this beautiful and extremely clean place with the best views and access to the lake despite any of those issues, I would stay here again! Beds were very comfy and clean. Communication with property manager was awesome I grew up on this lake, there is not one bad thing about it other than I had to go back up north.
