Top Dhadhawar Hotel Reviews

Forest Hideaway Resort PVT LTD

Forest Hideaway Resort PVT LTD

10/10 Excellent
"This is a pleasant budget venue minutes from the gate of Bardiya National Park. The rooms include mosquito nets, fans, and A/C. The bathrooms are very simple, but include hot water. The food was delicious and plentiful. Breakfast is included. We at lunch and dinner there too because there are really no other options nearby without a vehicle. Water was provided. Laundry was available. There is reasonable wifi in the common areas and limited in the rooms. The facility has a generator that provides electricity for basic functions if the power goes out (it went out briefly a few times during our stay). The venue provides and organizes safaris and walking trips into the park. The rates were reasonable. We had an open jeep (no covering), a guide, and a driver. The half-day and full-day safaris were quite straining on the body and I recommend anyone considering them do research about the different options. We were fortunate to see elephant, rhino, five kinds of deer, dozens of birds species and a python coiling around a recent kill... but no tigers. I would stay there again, but my friend found it a bit exhausting. The owner arranged transport to and from Nepalgunj (about 2 hours and USD50 each way)."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dhadhawar?
For most visitors, the best area to stay in Dhadhawar is near the Lumbini Sacred Garden, which is the historical birthplace of Buddha and the main attraction. This area is the primary focus for travelers visiting Dhadhawar. It offers direct access to the Lumbini Sacred Garden, where you can explore the Mayadevi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar, and numerous monasteries built by various countries. The area around the garden is generally quiet, with accommodations and local eateries suiting visitors within walking distance of the main entrance. This location is ideal for solo travelers and those on a spiritual journey, providing a focused and contemplative experience. For travelers seeking a slightly more developed area with broader dining and accommodation options, staying closer to the town center of Bhairahawa, which is about 22 kilometers from Lumbini, is a good alternative. While not directly in Dhadhawar, Bhairahawa serves as the gateway city and offers more amenities, including a wider selection of hotels and restaurants, while still being a manageable distance from the Sacred Garden via a short taxi ride.
When is the best time to go to Dhadhawar?
The best time to visit Dhadhawar is during the dry season, which runs from October to March, offering pleasant weather for exploring.During these months, the temperatures are moderate, and there's less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The clear skies provide excellent visibility for enjoying the natural landscapes and visiting local attractions. This period is particularly good for families and couples who want to experience the region without the intensity of the monsoon rains or the extreme heat of summer.
