The hotel is very clean, modern and comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful. There is not a lot of extra space in many of the rooms which is not an issue if you are spending most of your time outside. For North Americans, that the shower is not closed off by door or by curtain with the toilet and bathroom sink area might be an issue, but in the summer, the water from using the shower dries relatively quickly. The bathroom area is sealed off from the rest of the hotel room.
The area outside of the hotel is not the best being near Omonia Square. While there are other hotels around and old buildings are being fixed up, the area is a bit run down and at times can seem a bit seedy. That being said, I have never felt threatened. It is a local Athenian neighborhood, with a cafe next to the hotel, good and inexpensive souvlaki and gyros places close by. There is a laundromat just down the street. The hotel is close to Omonia square so there are some nice places to eat and get coffee around and a major metro station is there too, which connects you will the red and the green lines. The hotel is quite close to the National Archaeological Museum too, so you can get there by foot in 10 to 15 minutes.
Great hotel, especially for the price. The area is very convenient and there is a lot of good things around. It is really only aspects of the area that are an issue.
