"Although this is a older establishment, it has been lovingly remodeled and decorated. It is similar to what was once called a 'tourist court' back in the 40s & 50s. But that suits me just fine. It fills the bill for an overnight stay, as long as a person isn't overly picky. I've stayed in fancy places from LA to NYC and metro areas in between, but a little place like this has a nostalgic appeal that hard to beat."

"I hotel is in poor shape, the door safety latch had half of it missing, the door to the room was bent, the swimming pool was not open nor did it appear it would be anytime soon as if had algae growing in it. The website said free breakfast, there was none. The hotel overall looks rundown"

"This is a hotel for constructions workers. When my teenage daughter and I checked in early Sunday everything seemed okay. But late evening and Monday the hotel was filled with construction laborers. Every afternoon it was filled with guys in the parking lot drinking, playing music and smoking. I wish the hotel management gave my daughter and I heads up this might not be the hotel for you. "Traveling to South Texas we needed an overnight place to stay. We booked "The Hive" and are so glad we did! The place was spotless, had covered parking (that came in handy with the overnight storms), a huge fenced backyard for privacy, a king bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses and pillows ever, and great communication with the property owners! There is only one other house on the block and nothing worth seeing out front, but the back is where it's at with a big open space of nothing...
