Once our car was parked we could walk everywhere for shopping, drinks at the pub and visiting the sites. Very comfortable bed and wonderful shower (great after a hard days walking). "A lovely quirky & very old hotel. We had a great stay & will come back again. Not really any negatives above what you would expect from an old historic building. Attention to detail could be improved in a few area's, but these are minor, picky things. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Great building,l & great location to town. Family room was very nice & spacious, staff were friendly & helpful. Excellent breakfast (cold plates at 1st breakfast! Attention to detaiil). Swimming pool was excellent & 13year old loved it, as did I! A great short vacation & will return.."

"The property was very short staffed. drinks and other things were left all over the facility making it feel dirty and not well maintained. Was most difficult to get a drink or service while at the beautiful outdoor pool. The grounds are important to taking in. Staff was a bit difficult and rude about having my grandchildren visit during the day but sort of this one of the managers."

"A clean, well maintained, and picturesque hotel in a lovely location. Reception staff and bar staff were helpful and friendly, the restaurant was a little more chaotic with missed food orders, unable to answer questions about food, and dropping used breakfast cutlery in our laps causing us to have to change clothes. The room was fine, although somewhat basic lacking any standout touches. The iron provided was fairly useless and caused brown stains on my white shirt the morning of attending a wedding, and the fan provided was broken and noisy, which was unfortunate given the room was like an oven. Unfortunately the temperature of the room and the noisy fan meant sleep was fairly disturbed. Whilst the temperature is not within the control of the hotel or staff, an effective way to cool the room to a comfortable level should be considered. The spa was a nice extra, and facilities were also clean and well maintained. There was no spa staff in sight at the front desk when I arrived or left, which could cause concern in the event of an emergency as guests were not signing in or out. Overall, a lovely stay marked by a few disappointments."

"We did not realize when booking this room that there wasn’t a lift, which is hard when you were older hauling luggage at the stairs. The room was generally clean, but the furniture was a little beat up. We did hear noise from the pub below, but that might be expected since it was the World Cup. The team was extremely nice and we would stay there again."
