How old do you have to be to rent a car with Economy?

In most locations the renter must be 25 yrs of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit card in his/her own name. Each country and state has unique rules around car rental ages, but with Economy Rent A Car, 21 is the minimum. Drivers aged 21-24 will pay a daily young driver surcharge. Please refer to the Local Policies for specific information on driver ages at the location where you intend to rent and the applicable charges. (see policies)
Outside of the US, some branches of Economy may have an upper age limit, or charge older drivers extra it’s worth looking into this beforehand.


What cars can you rent from Economy?

Economy has large selection of vehicles to choose from for any adventure, with everything from mini 2/4 door vehicles to luxury cars, convertibles, minivans, SUVs and trucks. The selection varies by available inventory in each location, but examples of affordable cars might include the Smart Fortwo & Ford Focus, or for more upscale options Economy has the Ford Mustang & Chevrolet Camaro.


What documents do I need to rent from Economy?

Renters must present a valid driver license at the time of rental. Foreign/International renters must present a valid driver license and a valid passport.
Some branches do take debit cards, but always check ahead and keep in mind that additional fees/deposits and documentation are required, such as official proof of address or an airline ticket.


Do I have to return the vehicle with a full tank of Gas?

The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as rented, If not a refueling fee plus up to $6 USD per gallon will be charged.
