Gorgeous courtyard and rooftop patio, breakfasts are excellent, and we had a delicious tajine dinner one night (order ahead). The staff are friendly and helpful. Close walk to Cité portugaise and souk. Area is not touristy so you will have a local experience. About a 10 minute walk to the historical ramparts. Portugese Cistern is closed for repairs. About 1/2 hour walk to area with choices of restaurants. Area around the riad was not a touristed area at all. We stopped in El Jadida en route to Casablanca instead of returning to Marrakech from Essaouira, and travelling to Casablanca from Marrakech. My outstanding critique is that the water pressure in the bathroom was relatively weak and inconsistent; there was also a part of one day that the bath faucet seemed to run out, and the toilet would not flush. Otherwise, things seemed in order, and we appreciated the kindness of the service. The room was spacious but wasn’t as clean as we would have expected. Unfortunately, upon arrival the hotel manager / front desk lady didn’t greet us with much enthusiasm or warm hospitality. No information was provided for our stay, and when asked about recommendations, she responded with indifference. It is centrally located and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We were truly able to relax and just enjoy our very short time in El jadida but the riad made the trip excellent. Breakfast is very delicious here and they make an omlette!
