“Our host Elisabeth was wonderful. Nothing was too much. Friendly and spoke any great English thankfully which made our stay very positive. The room was great and so was the bathroom and toilet. The bedroom over overlooked the alps. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. The meal that was prepared on arrival (precooked) was delicious prepared and cooked with her own fair hand. “This family owned hotel is in the heart of Cauterets. The hotel is older and is evident when you walk the stairs and hallways where you can feel the slant in the floors. The room was very large and clean, with older french style furniture and curtains. The bathroom is very modern and had a large soaking tub. Like many French bathrooms, the toilet was in a separate “closet” outside the main bathroom, and although this is a bit odd at least this one had a hand sink inside. The breakfast was……

“Had a one night stay, ate in the restaurant, food and service were excellent. You get what you pay for and this luxury stay was well worth the money. Breakfast was plentiful with all tastes catered for. Can’t really find anything to complain about.”

“I was there for just one night. The staff was very helpful helping me park and accommodating my early checkout (well before any of the staff was set to arrive for the day). It's just a 5 minute walk to the beach and the beautiful castle, with over a dozen restaurants to choose from. The room was small, but it had a cute balcony and was clean and comfortable. The mattress was very firm. There is no elevator, so I had to drag my suitcase up to the third floor using the stairs. Overall a good stay.”
