Everything you need for a budget stay at SJ islands! Staff was very helpful for my late check in, prime location within walking distance of everything in Friday Harbor. Ideal stay for solo travelers!
This was my first vacation in years and I loved my stay at Orcas Inn they took amazing care of me and I highly recommend staying here. It is safe and immaculate and close to everything. The staff also made me feel safe and my stay there was amazing!!!!!
Great no-frills room a short walk from Friday Harbor with friendly and helpful staff. The beds could use a headboard though! A nice budget option on an island that tends to have expensive lodging.
Room is small, but was aware of that prior to making the reservation. Affordable and convenient to walking into town. Very clean accommodations. Just wish there was a coffee maker in the room.
My stay at the Orca Inn was perfect for what I needed. Being a solo traveler you don’t need a ton of space so these “micro rooms” were perfect. They had everything I needed including a fridge and a microwave. I loved how close to town it was. The rooms are outdated but very very clean at a fair price and staff are friendly.
Staff is amazing and friendly. Stored our bags before checkin and after checkout while we were cycling the island and they had a convenient bike rack for us to lock our bikes to. Rooms are small but clean and neat. Can’t beat the price.
The room was clean. Very small, one had to climb over to get by the wall. Perfect 1970’s double wide hotel. AC worked but it was loud. TV was good. Bed was clean but not comfortable
Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly. The location was convenient, making it easy to get around the area.
The room itself was a bit dated and had an awkward layout, making it feel smaller than expected. The walls were quite thin, so noise from neighboring rooms was noticeable. There were also very few electrical outlets, which made charging phones and laptops a bit inconvenient, and the Wi-Fi signal was weaker than expected.
While the property could benefit from some updates, it was clean and served its purpose for our stay.
The rooms are NY style, meaning they are small. But they were perfect for just the two of us, especially because we are shorter. The location was nice and away from things. Since we mainly used it just to sleep, this perfectly met our needs. Nice staff. Rooms were clean. Showers were hot. Each room had its own hot water, which was a nice feature.
Orca Inn is clean, cozy and comfortable walking distance (half-mile) into central Friday Harbor.
We were substantially delayed by a ferry service problem from the mainland (one of the larger vessels had to be taken out of service) when we were unable to reach the Inn by phone despite repeated attempts. Against all odds, we managed to catch one last midnight sailing and arrived at the Inn at 2 a.m., to be instantly greeted at the front desk and into the room right away. Thanks!
The hotel is a collection of modular buildings, like trailers. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the TV from the room next door in our room.
The bedding was good and clean. The bathroom is old but clean. The carpets need cleaning and they need blackout curtains. The blinds are ridiculous. The glare from the sun was so bright on the TV, we couldn’t even see the screen.
The manager is gruff and unfriendly.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I didn't realize the office closed at 9:00 PM and arrived shortly after that time. However, the gentleman at the office kindly stayed late to check me in. I truly appreciated his help, though I felt a bit guilty about it. I apologize!
Our room was cozy and charming. We only stayed for one night, so I don't have much to say. However, we all enjoyed the room.
The orca Inn is what it is. I will say that it’s rustic, it’s old, it’s simple… it’s not a five star luxury… that being said the beds are comfortable. The staff was nice and accommodating, the air-conditioning worked. The parking was free and easy and the rooms were very clean. This is a great place to stay if you’re going to be spending your days touring around then you have no need for a fancy luxury place. We had a king bed with a rollaway bed, I slept on the rollaway and it was very, very comfortable. The price is right and I would definitely stay here again. It’s convenient walking distance to everything that you want to go to in town. It’s quite the secret find.
This hotel is not just a convenient stepping stone to get to the ferry. It's gorgeous, with a lovely view of the water. The room was actually several rooms and the hottub a prefect relaxing element, complete with robes! We drank wine they sold on site which was surprisingly affordable and watched the deer in the garden. A highly recommended stay to slow down and take a deep breath before heading off to island time!
The Orca Inn is your budget in if you just want access to the island. The rooms are small and mine seemed to get very hot despite not having the heater on waking me in my sleep. The good thing is that because the rooms are small the AC works fast. The parking lots lights shine through the window and the blinds don't do a great job at keeping that light out. Once the sun comes up it is unbearably hot inside. The host was welcoming and it is conveniently located.
Jess was amazing! If you want a budget place within walking distance to town, this is it! Has all the basics and even the Marketplace is right next door.
