There is quite a bit of wear. Several of individual room doors have paint peeling off of them. It took a minute to figure what looked like a window air conditioner was actually a heater/air conditioner combo. We were unable to shut it off. There was a ticking sound we thought was the microwave but after unplugging it, the sound was still there. The wood was rotten near the baseboards, the carpet looked like it hasnt seen a vacuum in weeks, there was only 1 outlet and the AC/Heater smelt god aweful!!! This would be a last resort stay, definitely not up to standards for us. Dead flies on the carpet, an unseemly bathroom with the baseboard half-detached and looking rotten, an AC that was so loud it made sleeping almost impossible... Otherwise, the stuff was friendly, the bedding was fresh, and we haven't been mugged, so I guess three stars is warranted.
