“The receptionist was very welcoming and gave us useful information about walks and transport. The room was compact, and the bathroom a little dated but city was all clean. Even in summer air conditioning was not needed. Free parking and easy walk to restaurants and the train station is 2 minutes walk away. From there you can travel using a day ticket for €7 to any of the stops the High Tatras network. Breakfast was fresh, but quite a lot of meat and egg dishes. Only issue was that we requested……

“In a string of five backpacking days and high mountain huts, Hotel Sliezsky Dom was an unusually pampering exception. This is by far the most spoiling high mountain lodging I've ever been to (and I have trecked in five continents). Chef-made food, well equipped bar, comfortable rooms, and much more. Much more than a mere mountain hut”

“All was good, but the property needs some major refit - upgrade! Regarding their swimming pool Expedia needs to write as the same as the breakfast is ticked, same needs to be done with swimming pool as they say it’s NOT included in the they call it package! I have tried to explain that wasn’t a package and usually if there is a pool, guests can use it! I have been allowed to use it, but it needs to be marked as same as the breakfast otherwise it will need to be paid for!”

“Almost everything in the room is with wood furniture. It’s clean, quiet and comfortable with beautiful Mountain View. It’s also close to the train station with 10 minutes walk. The staff is very helpful and speak good English. The bathroom is too dark.”
