Location: Situated on a quiet peninsula at the base of the Surf City Bridge, our cottage is ideally located for easy access to coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, and public beach access. Here you'll find everything you need for a perfect coastal vacation. The Space: Step into our open-concept living and dining area, designed for gathering with loved ones and featuring comfortable seating with picturesque waterway views. The fully-equipped kitchen includes everything you need to cook and host guests, with additional seating along the large island. Relax in the living space with a large Smart TV and Cable, or step out onto the spacious covered deck that wraps around the house with rocking chairs and lounge seating overlooking the gorgeous Intracoastal Waterway. Very well stocked with anything we needed. Loved the water access. We enjoyed fishing every day. We caught our own bait (shrimp) and they were so plentiful, we even had enough shrimp to eat for supper. Although we didn’t keep any, there were lots of crab!! Quiet neighborhood. Check out was easier than any other place we’ve ever stayed. I had a couple questions and sent messages that were answered very quickly. The dock was amazing for fishing...we caught red drum, croaker, crab and other small fishes. AND we saw a pair of dolphins swim right by the dock. We rented kayaks from the surf shop down the street and they delivered to the house. Hanging out on the deck in the evening was also very pleasant with the constant wind keeping us cool. We walked over the bridge into Surf City a couple of times. It was about 1.5 miles each way and great to explore on foot. The management company was very prompt with clear communications and checking in was easy. There were beach chairs for our use but I couldn't find beach towels or cooler. We just used bath towels for the beach and we brought our own cooler so we were all set. There seems to be a soft spot in the floor under the flooring by the sliding door in the living room area. So we made sure to take a big step over the sliding doors. If we return to the area, we would definitely rent this house again. The place has nice decor- feels homey not like a rental. Great features were the deck with a wide view of the sound. It is close to the bridge at Surf City but pretty quiet- boats and jet skis stay on the other side of the sound so we didn’t hear them. We also really enjoyed the covered dock. The breeze and shade was great on the hot days and we caught some fish too. The check in and out process was really easy. WiFi was strong and appliances were new and very nice.
