The Ocean View Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Terrible place, didn't look the reviews as I would have never gone there, warn out materials, smells bad, nothing good. WARNING!!! Stay away..."

Pinnacle Suites
8/10 Good
"Fantastic location and great hotel with a very good gym. Unfortunately let down by the owner who was cantankerous and rude and lacked people skills. No clarity on bar opening/closing times Addi the young man on reception was brilliant. Very helpful and had good local knowledge of the area and was happy to help us with any additional needs. On the last day we reported our encounter with the owner and expressed our disappointment Asides that the place is really good and would recommend. Hopefully the feedback encourages the owner to educate himself of basic people skills"

Ryde Castle Hotel by Greene King Inns
8/10 Good
"A lovely hotel although a little tired. Great location and staff. Lovely food. Would definitely return. Would recommend but don’t expect a pristine hotel. This is an old hotel with charm."

Royal Esplanade Hotel
8/10 Good
"Only thing we don't not enjoy about the hotel, was the breakfast and the knife was very blunt would not cut butter with them. Other than that, nice hotel"

Lakeside Park Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"A relaxing feel runs through the hotel and out into the gardens. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. Herons love it too! The staff were smiley and attentive, Our room was clean and the towels soft and fluffy. We made use of the spa facilities every day. The pool temperature was great for us."

New Holmwood Hotel
8/10 Good
"Beautiful location. A great base to spend a nice IOW holiday"

The Lakes Rookley Holiday Park
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice, clean and very comfortable, no WiFi, bit poor these days, that's the only thing that lets it down."

The Royal Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I had a wonderful stay at The Royal Hotel. It’s a charming, elegant property with beautiful grounds and a perfect location. The atmosphere is calm and refined, and the staff were consistently pleasant, friendly, and eager to help. My room was larger than expected, with a very comfortable king‑sized bed. Some parts of the décor are a little worn, but in a way that feels more like gentle ageing than neglect — it doesn’t take away from the hotel’s character at all. On one day the hotel was clearly short‑staffed and the team were under pressure, but they handled it admirably. Seeing how hard they were working made it easy to be patient. A beautiful hotel with real charm."

The Caledonian Island Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"Absolutely appalling experience at the Caledonian Hotel, Isle of Wight. We arrived at 2:50 PM and were still made to wait until 3:05 PM because of their ridiculous “3 PM means 3 PM” policy. When we politely asked if we could check in just 10 minutes early, the receptionist responded rudely and dismissively: “I have told you 3 PM means 3 PM.” There was no courtesy, no flexibility, and certainly no customer service — despite the hotel clearly having plenty of rooms available. To make matters worse, we requested a table fan on arrival and were told it would be sent to the room within 10 minutes. That never happened. After repeatedly waiting and following up, we only got the fan late in the evening — and even then, we had to go and collect it ourselves from reception. The staff attitude was cold, rude, and completely unhelpful. Hospitality clearly means nothing here. A hotel stay should feel welcoming, not like you’re inconveniencing the staff by simply asking for basic service. Very disappointing experience and definitely not somewhere I would recommend."
