Prices seem more reasonable now on booking websites and comprable to the Premier Inn over the road which is good as the Doubletree is up another level. Or two.

Holiday Inn Express Newcastle Gateshead by IHG
Perfectly clean room, lovely staff, highly convenient for Metro Centre, Newcastle, and surrounds. Breakfast more than adequate; no sensible reason to stay elsewhere unless one has different aspirations.

Grainger Apartments
Tired room but clean. The owners should let you know with the check in details that you will require photo ID and want a cash security deposit on the key card, as I had neither of these on check in.

The New Mill Apartments
We had a good stay, when ringing for support to find the entrance and how to enter was very supported and sent all necessary details, free parking close by and isn’t too far a drive away from everything. Very quiet no banging through the night etc.
