"To begin with I requested 2 towels for each guest as we were staying two nights. I was told that they would be provided although normally each guest is only provided 1 towel and that they expected a "good" review for doing so. "Very friendly and helpful staff, simple and filling breakfast provided. Though a small hotel with a cafe, the room is cozy yet large enough for a whole family of 4-5 with all the amenities provided. It’s near the train station and a large 7-11 with surrounding good food and walking distance to all the places of interest. Although there’s no elevator, the staff had helped to bring up our luggage to the room as we explored Yufuin, since check in is after 4pm. Check out is very late though, till 5pm, hence it’s great for those who want to explore more or just make use of the onsen or lounge. Overall a very satisfying stay and highly recommended!"

"Liked - Clean room with 4 pillows. Fast wifi. Strong hot shower pressure. Cool aircon. Rooftop outdoor onsen. Good location on top of JR station and malls. Luggage rack. To improve - Window cannot be opened for cool fresh autumn air. No hook in bathroom to hang clothes or towel. TV no YouTube or Netflix. Reusable slippers not as hygienic as disposable slippers. "

"Hotel was a min away from the train and bus station and access to a variety of restaurants option. We had breakfast included and they had many choices and of high quality - you should want for naught (unless perhaps have gluten problems). In the evening they serve free freshly prepared ramen upto 11pm and then afterwards instant cup noodles. The fresh cook ramen was surprisingly good. I didn’t try the cup noodles. The room was ok - comfortable and clean. This place has a public and 8 private onsen. The hotel is very busy (cater towards tour groups) so you have to line up for the private onsen. We tried number 1 and 7. 7 is better but both were nice for a soak. Overall not a luxurious hotel but a very nice/good hotel in good condition. The folks coming to this hotel as part of a tour group are lucky! "

"Nice clean hotel that is very deceiving from the outside. Excellent customer service and the private onsen was awesome. Room was huge, clean, and comfortable. Beppu Tower located directly across the street with dining options also within walking distance. Convenient parking one minute away in the outdoor parking for the mall next door. "

"We stayed Sora tradition western style, room is spacious, clean, and provides good amenities - like best face soap & moisturizer face creams, top of line hair dryer, Yukata, indoor & out door slippers, toothbrush with paste. I don’t have to pack anything. They provide for you. Only thing missing was body lotion. The indoor hot springs (in room) temperature was perfect, but outside terrace one was extremely hot, so hard to enjoyable. The Japanese style meals, the dinner and breakfast we select was 8/10. All great, but the soup wasn’t my favorite, however others might like it. In my opinion, the coffee wasn’t that great, but good selection of teas. I can’t complain the staff’s service. Top notch, they will make your stay comfortable, everyone so politely kind. So, my staying at here was best experience. Another plus things was next to Hell of Beppu and has great city view. "

"Very clean hotel right next to Oita station lots of shopping and food and easy travel but bus or train or foot . My fiance said the onsen was super nice and clean . Checking in and out very easy and fast all the staff super nice and friendly and very accommodating considering I don't speak Japanese. I have visited Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Oita for a little over a week in each city. Oita was by far my most enjoyable and relaxing city I have visited. All the people very friendly, highly recommend Tennen Onsen Ariston Hotel and the city of Oita. I hope to visit again someday."
