One of the Algarve's most popular vacation destinations, the port town of Lagos is popular with families and couples who come to stay in its chic hotels, kid-friendly apartments, or beachside resorts. Renowned for its nearby coves and picturesque old town, Lagos is rather small but offers something different in each of its neighborhoods. Perhaps its biggest appeal is that no matter where sun-seekers choose to stay, they can expect about 300 days of sunshine each year and balmy sea temperatures in the summer. The best months to visit are generally March to October.
