Escape to our charming little cabin, nestled on 15 acres of rolling pastureland and Christmas tree fields in the serene foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Built in the 1940s as a tenant farmer’s home, this hidden gem sits quietly up the hill behind our big old farmhouse, offering privacy and tranquility. Relax on the porch, watch the birds, and stargaze under clear mountain skies.
Located in Ashe County, in North Carolina’s northwest corner near the Virginia line, you’re just minutes from adventure:

-15 minutes to Grayson Highlands State Park
-20 minutes to White Top Mountain, Mount Rogers, the Appalachian Trail, and the Virginia Creeper Bike Trail
-Steps away from Helton Creek, a local favorite for fishing, just across the road
-Short drives to the New River and New River State Park

Family reunion

My son just built a house in the area so my family decided to have a family reunion there. We had a wonderful time keeping ourselves busy the whole time. It is a beautiful area and looking forward to visiting it again.

Girls Weekend for Trail Run at Grayson

Perfect location for our trail race, very comfortable cabin, beds very comfortable, had all necessary supplies and extra to make stay enjoyable. Loved seeing the deer and cows while sitting on the front porch. WiFi was great! Very happy with stay.

This is the second visit to this property. I enjoyed my stay there as much as the first time. Really like that it's a quiet peaceful place with birds, deer, rabbits and a nice view. The spring/stream running beside the house is great to listen to. The lightening bugs are also a hit with us. It's nice that the kitchen has small appliances, and also a few things in the bathroom that you may need. Plan on going back again, hope it's not 4 years before I can do it. I really like this place.

Beautiful mountain cabin

Great place to stay, very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. It’s very peaceful and private, you can sit outside on two seperate decks, on the one in the back we enjoyed breakfast and in the evening we used the barbecue. Lots to do in the area, and so nice to have such a beautiful place to come home to after a busy day!

Cozy cabin with beautiful nature all around

The cabin had all the features as listed, and the host, Rosemary, was responsive and helpful. There is a stream nearby with ambient flowing sound and a hill that offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area. I highly recommend the place.

This was my second time staying at the cabin. Beautiful, serene, peaceful. Felt like home but better. This is my new favorite destination to relax and unwind and get with God and His creation.

Wonderful Vacation!

This property is wonderful! It was so peaceful and the little creek beside the house and the birds singing made it all the better. The house is well cared for and very clean. We will definitely vacation here again. Ms. Rosemary was a delight.

Peaceful escape

Perfect little cabin to get away from the city for the weekend! The neighborhood cows were quiet and respectful. It had everything we needed for grilling and front porch sitting.

The cabin was nice and quite and peaceful. The sounds of the brook and the sounds of the night were awesome in the evenings. It’s a good place to go to unplug for awhile. The cabin is cute and has a nice place to sit out on the deck. The owner was very helpful and nice. I really didn’t want to leave. Would definetly rent this cabin again.

Very pleased just wish it had not rained so much and we could have had the washing machine going. We went down to Lancing to wash that took about 3 hours. We did get to see your black snake I named him George.

Great property, location, and management! Stay here if you can.

The cabin is tucked away in a secluded location with a branch flowing through the front yard. The property was scenic, and the house itself was well-appointed. The kitchen was HUGE! The bathrooms are adjacent to each of the bedrooms, with both bathrooms being cozy and comfortable. The house's water supply is spring fed, so the water tastes great! If you are iffy about drinking real mountain spring water, the owners supply a bottled water cooler/heater/dispenser. They had recently purged/cleaned the spring water lines when we stayed. We were notified ahead of time of what was done, along with instructions to notify management immediately if there were any issues. We discovered the water pressure was too low to shower our first evening, and it was too late in the day to get anything done about it that night; used the contact feature and the app and received a response almost instantly! They were very understanding and helpful. They provided an acceptable option for showers while they tried to get someone out to fix the issue. With it being the Fourth of July weekend, I did not expect they would be able to get anyone out there until after the holiday possible. The water was fixed the next evening. The communication with management was excellent. We have family less than a mile down the road and visit a few times yearly. I assure you that I will plan future trips around the Rustic Cabin's availability! Thank you, Rosemary and Ben!
