“I cannot recommend this property enough! We visited for 8 days in late June/early July 2026, and the view from the wrap-around glass patio was breathtaking every single day, morning and evening. Because of the shape of the valley, we would routinely see completely different weather patterns West, North, and East. Maybe it was snowing on the mountain across the lake, raining at the property, and sunny out West... all at the same time!It's only a 25-30min drive West to Akranes to pick up groceries……

“We LOVED our stay here- from booking to our holiday we had such great communication with our host. This house is so special and wonderful highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay- we could not have asked for a better base for our Iceland adventure. Having all of the information from our host from directions to how to use the appliances was fantastic. Already dreaming of our next visit. Bonus was seeing the northern lights on a very clear night from the back deck. ”

“The house is a perfect getaway with quiet and beautiful views. Outfitting and condition are 5 star. Were able to cook and take care of our laundry as required. We happened to arrive in the middle of an April blizzard, so getting there was a little challenging. Fortunately a neighbor showed up behind us as we reached the entrance from the highway, so just followed them on the dirt road back to the house. “We were satisfied with this stay. The kids, 6-38, stayed in the larger house and we stayed in the smaller one. We thought the smaller house was closer to the large one, but it is a little bit down the road. The only comment I will make about the smaller house is that the parking area is up from the house and the path down is very rocky. If you have any mobility issues it would be difficult to traverse. It snowed while we were there and we had to use ice cleats to go up to the car. Overall though……
