Check out the Falls on one side of the park then proceed across the road to the buffalo enclosure.
The Minnesota river was flooded so the path to the fishing area was extremely muddy. That said, 2 must-see items are (1) the falls (which were absolutely wonderful) and (2) the bison loop, which was fascinating. BTW, the bison drive is unpaved so take a truck or SUV if possible and plan on washing your car afterwards.
Hiking in the early morning really helped keep the bugs at bay and added to our enjoyment.
