Great location and the owner Terry is a hoot! Very chatty. However, this property has fallen into disrepair since the last time we were here. The bathroom door wouldn’t latch, our room door did not lock (major safety issue!), and a book lamp clipped to the headboard fell and hit me in the head. Less egregious issues: the mattress was quite uncomfortable, the room was so small there was no room for a nightstand on either side of the bed, and we could hear noise from other guests and a busy street. (This was the Lighthouse Room.) If we’d been staying more than one night I’d have looked into alternatives. This place was the cheapest option in the vicinity and there’s a reason for that. If you really want to be walkable to downtown Charlevoix, this property might be worth it. I probably won’t risk it again.
