The well-appointed kitchen, with its horseshoe layout, provides convenience at your fingertips, while the dining room table accommodates six guests, with additional seating for three at the kitchen bar. Relax in the living room, equipped with a new flat-screen TV and DirecTV, ensuring everyone can unwind with their favorite shows.

On the main level, discover the master bedroom retreat featuring a plush King bed, access to the full-length waterfront deck, and an ensuite bath. A second bedroom with a queen bed offers additional comfort, complemented by a full hall bathroom and laundry room.
Step outside onto the expansive waterfront deck, furnished with a patio set seating six and four Adirondack chairs, perfect for soaking in the serene lake views. Fire up the three-burner gas grill for a delicious outdoor barbecue experience.

We had family staying for a wedding. The front door key was difficult to unlock the front door. Also, it would be nice to have a "pod" type coffee maker in the kitchen. There was a damaged corner dry wall molding on the first-floor hallway. And the carpet could use a cleaning throughout the house. Otherwise, the house was perfect for our stay.

Nice home overall, but appears to be a problem with the water. Clothes came out stained when washer was used, and we were forced to use bottled water for the week and launder elsewhere. Very nice dock area, but most rentals provide access to water toys, etc. so not having that available was a disappointment. Living space of the home is very nice

Stay was nice, not quite what the pictures show in a good way.

The house was great for the weekend. Could use some minor touchups here and there but overall it's great. The pictures don't do it justice honestly. There's a nicer couch and TV downstairs and all the bed spreads were nicer than the pictures. Owner let us stay later and were very quick to respond.

Awesome week on the lake

Beautiful setting in quiet neighborhood with a very nice dock! We enjoyed the week with family and all the lake activities. There is space where we docked our rental pontoon right at the house each evening which was very convenient too.

Weekend Not Enough!

Days leading up to check-in, host replied to messages right away and was always very friendly. House is in perfect location and has absolutely everything you could need or think of, for vacation. The kids loved being able to swim off of the dock and us adults loved being able to watch from the deck and various lawn furniture (provided). The weather was perfect and so is the view!! This house did not disappoint, but exceeded our expectations. We were only there for two short nights and didn't want to leave!! The host was kind enough to allow late check-out and said we could stay until 1pm!! Will definitely be booking, again! ... it's 5 o'clock somewhere!!

To say the least, we were very disappointed. The ad placed on VRBO certainly doesn’t reflect the current condition of this rental property. To name a few issues: • Worn out and almost filthy upholstered furniture • Many marks and stains on most walls • Badly stained toilets (especially the common bathroom on the main floor.) • Broken toilet seat in the master bathroom • Stained shower curtain liners • Bottoms of basement blinds were black with mold • Kitchen sink faucet cap broken, no working coffee maker, no light in refrigerator, no stove light. • Food left in fridge and cupboard from previous renters • No outside lights to illuminate the parking and front porch areas (there are light fixtures, just no working light bulbs) • Many burned out light bulbs throughout the house • Junk pile at the end of the upstairs deck, outside the master bedroom (broken chair with a pillow shoved into it, some vinyl tarp balled up, broken table umbrella, etc.) • Trip hazards at the transition from carpeting to “wood” flooring • Very poor water pressure in the master bathroom shower • Tears in master bathroom rugs • Over-grown vegetation, including vines encroaching the sliding glass door downstairs and growing onto the steps down to the dock • Rotting handrail in some areas on the steps down to the lake • House siding appears to have not be cleaned in years. “Melted’ siding on back porch • No seating on the downstairs patio area, even though pictured in the ad The above information was sent to the company that manages this rental (CB Rentals). I asked for a refund/discount as this property wasn't accurately represented in the write up. The management company wrote back, essentially telling me that we should have contacted them with these issues when we noticed them so they could address them. Really? We would have had workers in the house the entire time we were there if we took that route. Also to note is that some of the issues we saw, had been reported via the VRBO review of this rental numerous times in the past, so beware. They really missed the point of my email to them (what was advertised and what we got were two different things, and that some type of compensation should be made.) The property was a mess and not managed well at all.

House is in a great location on the lake. Low boat traffic and quiet with a lot of wildlife walking around. Had a great time. The house was not in the best shape when we arrived. Refrigerator filthy. Screens broken on upper and lower screen doors, many dead light bulbs, rotted boards on porch and floating dock. Porch umbrella broken. Dock fitting holding floating dock to dock house closest to house has 1 out of 6 bolts installed. Picture as advertised does not reflect actual view at present time. House would be great with alittle TLC.

Good location but some issues.

The pros of this house are that it’s in a good location in a quiet cove without a lot of boat traffic and the downstairs living area provides extra space for everyone to spread out. The cons are that the downstairs was full of bugs. We should have known it was going to be a problem when we saw 3 cans of bug spray on the counter when we first walked in. There are also several places where there are rotted boards on the deck and on the dock. The handrail going down to the dock is loose in places and the railing on the steps to the floater is so wobbly one of our family members almost fell. The floater is also attached to the dock on one side only with rope while the other side has a metal bolt. It all seemed unsafe. We had a problem with the washing machine which was fixed pretty quickly but the guy that came to fix it said they they are called to that house to fix problems way more often than they should be. The house is in need of some basic upkeep. .

Great location, great cove and water, house needs a bit of TLC

We had a 3-generation vacation and everyone had fun! The 50-ish steps down to the dock were manageable for the grandparents and the dock/cove was great for jumping, swimming, SUP, and fishing for the younger set. The water was clear, deep, clean and beautiful. The house was cleaned well between guests, but seems to be neglected in terms of regular maintenance. The handrail down to the dock is falling off, some siding was coming off, there were 3 wasp nests on the property, the dock needed to be power-washed after the last SML flood, and the house should be treated for bugs. We would definitely rent this house again because of the location and would love to see a table on the dock! Thanks for a great week!

Very nice location and clean house

Midway on the lake not far from state park Virginia Dare or all the restaurants at Moneta. House was nice and clean easy check in and check out. Water is nice and deep at the dock which was very nice also. Would definitely stay again. Driveway is very narrow and difficult to back a large tandem axle boat trailer down just because it’s in a very sharp curve and tight space but that was only issue I had.

Perfect lake vacation spot

Very nice home, well laid out to enjoy lake views, with the pool table for rainy days or at night. Close to the state park and restaurants. Clean beds and convenient kitchen. Large deck was great to use our telescope at night. Our twins loved their bedroom downstairs. Nice selection of DVDs for all types of taste.

Great place, could use some small upgrades but overall great for the weekend.

I wish I be would have read better before booking to realize I needed to bring sheets and toilet paper and all that - which I did read before we left but when your traveling who wants to bring all that stuff - but again i should have paid more attention. The place was clean, neighborhood was nice enough and there was a cool bar near by. The rental office was nice, accommodating and helpful. I would put a sign for the rental because at night the driveway is hard to find and maybe get some new shades - but other than that it was great.

Good location on lake, with fair to good house

First time at this property. Good location on mostly quiet cove of SML. Neighbor houses are very close, but friendly and welcoming, just don't expect large lawn or open area. Pictures were several years ago, and landscape has almost overgrown areas, and house showing some wear and tear such as patio furniture worn, broken or unusable, screen door off, and ice maker not working. Inside is nice, beds were great and furniture as well. Pool table is very nice with what looked like new felt on bed/bumpers. Kitchen well equiped, and dishwasher was great. Street and driveway are very narrow making it difficult to navigate pulling boat trailer, but close by marina made lauching/retrival easy. floating dock area great for having boat tied up and swimming. Would consider again, held 6-8 adults fairly well.

Fun getaway

first time at smith mt lake, was much fun. House was basic but sufficient. Lake was great for boating and swimming - warm and deep. Mgt reponsive to problems with fridge - fixed within a few hours. Would definitely stay again.
