Whether it's because of their architecture, pumping nightlife or central location, some streets are more well-known than others. Make tracks to Monument Avenue and discover why it's on many tourist itineraries.

Located in Fan District, this public thoroughfare is well worth including on your itinerary. But you'll find tons more to explore in the area. Richmond Raceway, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts are within close reach of Monument Avenue.

Most monuments have been moved to Capital area where current road construction (June 2019) is impossible to access.

The monuments are very spread out so we drove Monument avenue. There is no place to stop and enjoy each Monument. If there is one in particular you want to spend time looking at you would have to find a rare parking spot and walk. Be sure to drive and enjoy all of them.
