We loved our six night stay at Katari. The rooms were comfortable with traditional furniture and lovely linens. The location on the Plaza de Armas can’t be beat. The views from the rooftop restaurant and bar are spectacular at all times of the day, but especially at sunset, with the lights on the cathedral coming up and the sun turning the snow capped volcanoes pink. The only thing better are the staff, so kind, warm and responsive. Highly, highly recommend this place!

This hotel is gorgeous, super clean, and perfectly located. The beds, pillows, and linens are luxurious, providing a true 5-star experience during our 5-night stay. We enjoyed drinks on the rooftop with stunning views of Plaza del Armas, and the pizza was delicious! Highly recommended! Tip: If you use the laundry service, be sure to separate your darks from whites, as they wash everything together.

Qema is a fun little spot to stay in Arequipa! The common areas are surprisingly spacious, with a quirky, slightly whimsical vibe that gives the place lots of character. The private rooms are small, but comfortable enough, especially since you’re out exploring most of the day. The shared bathrooms were perfectly fine, too. It’s about a 5–10 minute walk to the main square and tons of restaurants nearby. A great little home base for a few days in Arequipa!

The Hotel is a little bit old. It is not well Lit at all. But the food is outstanding, the staff is amazing. With the exception of the older guy that works at night in the front desk, that guy didn’t seem like he wanted to be bothered at all. Besides that, everybody else went out of their way to help you in anyway they could. I have stayed in five star five diamond hotels, and this has been the best staff I have ever experienced. Well done. The staff is by far the star of all of this.
