“there was nothing we liked... the foto made one think it was in a green location. it was sqeezed in between other hotels, on a very steep hill, very narrow street reception is in bmt. staff was unfriendly, room was like a cell, window opened untoa roof and walk way, so we could not sleep w. open window... address is wrong, the place is in Geres which is a town 27 km further east, we had to backtrack after we got to the town that is noted on the reservation, which is act. the district……

“This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful (as well as her pet goat and dogs). She even makes a lovely homemade breakfast, by request, for only 6€ a person. In the morning, we could smell her homemade bread baking. The suite we stayed in had a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a beautiful balcony with a view of the hills. The property is very quiet and located in such a peaceful area. If we ever go back to……

“Værelset blev gjort rent men håndklæder og brugte glas blev ikke skiftet. En lille ting når ejeren var sød og hjælpsom og udsigten helt perfekt. Stedet er ikke for gangbesværet pga. Højdeforskellen på hotellet og der er ikke elevator. Der er restauranter i nærheden i vila geres . Et dejligt hotel med søde værter.”

Limited choice but very good Negative - high level of humidity in the room. - smell of humidity as well as mold - the mattress is really bad. Both of us ended up in the middle. Need to be changed asap - this was the most expensive hotel during our vacation and the worst one. ”

“Casa da Fonte is nestled in one of the sweetest villages within Gerês. This place was a good value for price. However, we had major issues with check in. We sent inquiries about check in days before and received no response. We didn’t get our check in information until after the check in time, forcing us to sit in a fierce, cold rain storm. The place smelled like cigarettes and the host is not on site/wasn’t responsive. However, we may have been a one off. Everybody has a bad day and we hope……

“O Hotel Beleza Serra nada fica a dever ao seu nome. Situado na zona baixa, junto à albufeira, junto à estrada nacional que nos leva ao Gerês. O hotel, com uma decoração que está muito bem conseguida e com elevado nível de conforto, conduz-nos facilmente ao relax, após as possíveis actividades que se podem praticar pela serra e na àgua da albufeira. “The room had the hot water shut off. The air conditioning vent was missing. Overall the experience of the room was terrible. The floor was filled with paint leftovers. Staff did not even suggested moving rooms.”

“Some parts of the room were in some rough shape (bathroom door not opening fully because was filled with water, some furniture had a lot of scratches) overall was a good stay, the staff was amazing, the Jacuzzi water was a lot below than the 34 degrees stated on the information board which ended up not being so pleasant as we expected ”

“O espaço tinha poucas condições de higiene e vários equipamentos estavam velhos partidos e estragados. A cama era desconfortável e as almofadas eram velhas e disformes de esponja. O espaço apesar de ter uma paisagem agradável não é acolhedor para receber hóspedes e não oferece as condições de higiene básicas.”
