My husband and I were due to stay here for 4 nights at the end of last month, however our flight from Gatwick to Zakynthos were cancelled by EasyJet due to a storm/bad weather. The next flight out to the country was 2 days later. This was clearly out of our control. We contacted Expedia to ask for our money back on the hotel booking and the hotel declined to refund us stating their cancellation policy.
I understand this is a business but our flights being cancelled on the day we were due to fly and check-in is clearly not our choice and a clear case of extenuating circumstances. My husband and I would’ve been prepared to stay at the hotel at another time if the refund could’ve been offered to us via another means (voucher etc) but this wasn’t offered and was an automatic NO. This decision would’ve been at the hotels discretion considering the circumstances.
Very disappointed and we will now have to sought our money back by another means (insurance/bank).
