The Lookout - book all 6 of our Lookout Cabins!

Our brand new cluster of "Lookout" Cabins are perched on a centrally located, yet still secluded and "end of the road," ridge in the Red River Gorge Kentucky.  Just two miles from the Gorge Underground and 3 miles from Miguel's pizza, The Lookout Cabins are named after six different native bird species (Chickadee, Indigo Bunting, Larkspur, Oriole, Warbler and Wren) and is a cheerful, brand new, and modern space that features unmatched porch views, a hot tub at five of the six cabins, a community firepit and outdoor grilling area.  The Lookout is a fantastic space for small events and family reunions.

Each cabin provides all the modern comforts and amenities of a larger home while maintaining the intimate appeal of a smaller space.

Parking at the Lookout happens at the very entrance to the space for all of the cabins - which means that when you leave your vehicle and walk the 100 to 500 feet to your cabin (depending on which specific cabin you are in), you leave the world a little bit more behind and refocus on the forest, family and friends you are here to spend time with.

The studio layout in each cabin features a queen sized bed, full sized fold out couch, comfortable cooking and dining space and a completely relaxing wrap around porch.  To access Chickadee, you will park in a graveled parking area before the cluster of our 6 Lookout cabins (Chickadee is the first on your right) and walk out about 150 feet on a beautiful graveled path to your cabin and your spot for ultimate rest and relaxation.

The fully equipped kitchen exudes an open-air charm with its four-burner electric stove, sink, 1/2 sized refrigerator and microwave.  Additional amenities such as air conditioning, heating (mini-splits), a shared fire pit, and convenient access to the Natural Bridge State park and the rest of the gorge.

Staying in a Red River Gorgeous Cabin is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.  Since all of our hand-built cabins are unique, we wish to inform you of their individual features so you can come prepared to enjoy your stay to the fullest.

EACH of the Rootery Cabins has the following:

Full Bathroom:  featuring a walk in shower, flush toilet and hand sink

Compact Kitchen:  featuring multiple windows, 4 burner electric stove, coffee maker, 1/2 sized fridge, cookware, eating utensils, dish rack, and kitchen sink

Living Room Space:  features a couch and coffee table, and a great view out of the large sliding glass porch door!

Bedroom Area:  Queen bed with nightstands and full sized fold out couch

Utilities:  Full electricity, plumbing, heat, air conditioning and flush toilet

Other Details:  Hot tubs with unmatched views!, amazing all-natural location, parking, shared grilling porch, easy access to exceptional hiking trails and climbing areas in both the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park

We are happy to host pets at The Lookout and ask for an additional $50 (plus tax) non-refundable pet cleaning fee for the first pet at EACH of the cabins.  Any additional pets are $25 (plus tax).

Linens are always provided for this cabin.  We will provide pillows, blankets, bedsheets and bath towels.  We will also provide kitchen towels, toilet paper, hand and dish soap.

Firewood is also available upon request.  For $25 we will deliver firewood to your fire pit.  Please be sure to mark on your reservation if you would like firewood delivery.  Please be sure to put out all fires COMPLETELY when you are finished.
