Spacious, Two Bedroom Condo at the Center of the Crystal Coast

Kitchen is fully equipped, with plans to be updated in the near future, and includes a dishwasher (as well as a washer & dryer). Master bedroom has a King bed and private bathroom. Second bedroom has 2 bunk beds: Queen/Extra-Long Twin & Twin/Twin. A 6 person kitchen table, along with 4 stools at the large island, affords plenty of room for eating, games, and puzzles. Private balcony holds a 6 person table for outdoor dining or just enjoying the sounds of the ocean.
3 smart TVs (living room TV also has cable) and high speed WiFi Internet. Coded keypad for keyless entry. Less than a 2 minute walk from the door to the sand.
Remodeled master bathroom (2023)
NO SMOKING. NO PETS.
Linens are included. (i.e. - sheets/pillowcases, bath towels & washcloths, bath mats, and kitchen towels & rags.) The linens will be in a bag at the front door upon arrival. Also, beds have pillows, blankets, and comforters.
Rents Sunday to Sunday prime season (prime season runs from approx. the second week in June thru the second week in August).

Colony by the Sea is a family-friendly complex with a quiet beach. It is conveniently situated in the middle of the island - 15 mins from both Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. Pool, hot tub, charcoal grills, picnic area, and elevators are all on-site for guest use.

This was our second time staying at the property, and we have thoroughly enjoyed it both times! The location can't be beat and the amenities are nice. We used the pool and yard games on the property every day. The condo was clean and had everything we needed.

This was my second stay at this condo. We have always loved this location. Our family has been coming here for over 20 years. Will probably return in summers to come! Hurricane Erin added a bit of edge to our stay. The waves were amazing!

Great Complex

Great complex with several amenities right on the beach. Pool, hot tub, ping pong and lawn games. The condo was clean and spacious. Note that you need to make the beds upon arrival and even for weekend stays, bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, soaps etc.

Great Location!

Very spacious living room and kitchen! Beach access was great and the pool was a hit. We also enjoyed the covered porch. I would have given 5 stars, however, I was not expecting to have to prepare the place. I have never had to make a bed for a vrbo stay. After unpacking we had to make all of the beds. I also knew that we would have to make a grocery run but the place did not even have a roll of toilet paper, a single trash bag, or salt and pepper. Again, I knew that we would have to purchase supplies but I felt like the property could have provided minor essentials.

Quiet Beach Trip

Mid October was a great time to stay at this lovely condo. The complex is on the beach, so it is a quick walk to reach the beach. The condo is very spacious. One note of preparation, bring everything to stock your space, as this operates more like a weekly beach house rental. We had to make a stop out for extra supplies, like toilet paper and dish soap.

We really enjoyed the condo. There was a large dining, living room, kitchen area. Looked like it must have been painted recently as everything looked crisp. The master suite and other bathroom were ample size, too. We would stay here again.

Return to Colony by the Sea 2024

Our family has rented units here for many years. The last time was probably more than 20 years ago. We have always enjoyed the location and friendliness of the property managers. My family is large so we rented 5 different units. My unit was one of the best. I will definitely stay here again. Hope to return next year!

New favorite beach vacation

Clean and well maintained place to stay. Time to replace the vertical blinds in the living room. We loved the location and ease of access to the beach and surrounding area. Very laid back and enjoyable. Everything was exactly as described. We would like to return in the future. Well done.

Relaxing, spacious condo perfect for families

We had one of our best family vacations here. It was the cleanest condo I’ve ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything you need for a great stay - plenty of things you don’t think of until you don’t have it in other places, like lots of hooks for towels, plenty of kitchen tools down to chip clips and leftover containers. The living area was so spacious. The showers were clean. The carpet was soft. The beds were comfortable. The views of the ocean were beautiful. The resort itself was so relaxing - perfect sized pool plus hot tub. I appreciated the no smoking/vaping policy throughout the entire place. Very very kid friendly. Close to everything we like to do in Emerald. We will be back!

Don't Overthink This

tl;dr: Great spot to spend a vacation. I get it, you have to read review after review before you feel comfortable hitting "submit". I did the same. The pictures of the updated bathrooms compared to other rentals in the price range is what sold me. The pictures, and other reviews, proved to be accurate. My OCD wife was pleased with the unit's cleanliness. The host was excellent and responsive. Ben, the property manager, exemplified southern hospitality. The location was beach front property, putting you out the front door and feet in the sand within 2 minutes. (Why are you still reading, go ahead and rent!) There are luggage racks to help with your arrival/departure and shopping carts to assist if you go grocery shopping. A useful elevator helps with the "commute" from the parking spot to the residence. (Really? Still not convinced?) Are you the type that needs a "con"? It rained one of the days we were there. Why couldn't the owner control the weather? Again, I understand your need to dissect every single review. I could nitpick if you need some true cons, but it's a rental property, not a forever home. I'm not expecting granite in the kitchen. The bathrooms are updated. If you don't trust my review, please read the other reviews. I think you'll discover this is a great place to spend a relaxing vacation on the Crystal Coast.

We only stayed here for 3 nights in October. It rained the whole time but we really enjoyed our stay. Communication with the owner was great and instructions for check in and check out were clear. It is very clean and well maintained. Will definitely stay here again.
