“It was my first visit to Waikawau area where there are two adjacent beautiful bays, Waikawau Bay and Little Bay. The holiday home, Kaka Cottage we stayed at was truly a nice place to enjoy comfort and tranquility as it is situated in the top forest and the host couple is very kind and friendly. They are peace loving people. We really enjoyed staying at the house. I recommend to all.”

“fabulous location. I felt that there was a big gap between info online and then the further info provided by the host and the reality. The two upstairs bedrooms were fine. The two downstairs incredibly musty. We could not use the bedding from. downstairs. Thankfully we had brought some with us. No internal access between upstairs and downstairs made it difficult with the makeup if the group, I.e. children and adults. It was also very very rainy so that added to the problem if no internal access……

“Layed back settlenent with super friendly people. We could walk down to the veach rock pools and pub. Have beautiful views of the bay. Definitely need a vehicle but everywhere seems like PARADISE”

“We stayed at The Lazy Fish and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this lovely home. All of the amenities of modern living off the grid, this home was the perfect place for our visit to GBI. We had fresh food from the store to make lunch and breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed walking to Currach’s pub for dinner. The sunset views were spectacular. “Was just after first flood. Wondered if we would be able to land or fly out but no problem in the end. Place was close to Claris and easy to find and exactly as expected. Drove to Tryphena and Fitzroy. Drinks at Irish pub was great. My fat puku great coffee and food. Museum n gallery v worthwhile. Bach was great. No problem with water obviously or power for that matter. All in all a great weekend. Thanks Mike”
