Sankt Stefan ob Stainz is located in the well-known Schhilferland in western Styria. Well-known excursion destinations include the Stainzer Warte, which offers a wonderful view over western and southern Styria, the power station in Arnstein (also a mountain bike highlight), the Bad Gamser Weinbergwarte, the Teigitschklamm and the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen nature park.

The Grebenzen - St. Lambrecht ski area offers a total of around 27 kilometers of slopes, beautiful landscapes and varied runs. A real natural ski area and is located around 1.5 hours by car from Sankt Stefan ob Stainz.

In summer, the Wildon bathing lake, the Nymphenweiher bathing lake in Niedergams, the natural bathing pond in Stainz and the outdoor pools in the area offer plenty of bathing fun!
