"Our room was beautiful, looked just like the photos. Lots of things to do. We came to visit a family member who moved here. The only downside was that no one is very fond of Americans, so demeanor and service changed quite a bit once we started talking and the knew we were from the US, it was made pretty obvious. "This hotel is beautiful - from outside. It needs some serious renovation. The bathrooms are very outdated and super small. I had to request a change of rooma because of a moldy bathroom. The smell gave me an instant headache. This can’t be healthy! All the rooms I have experienced unfortunately have that old room smell. Please restore this beautiful historically valuable building!"

"Room was unclean on arrival. Door required a special manoeuvre to unlock which was a real fire risk as the room windows don’t open. We reported both to reception, but were greeted by a shrug of the soldiers and some story about renewing the cleaning contract at the end of the season. "We came from the US to visit a family member, this is our 2nd year in a row staying here and we love it. The price is amazing for what you get, we stayed in the Villas and the apartment was very nice. The staff have always been so nice and the area is just beautiful. The Imatran Koski is a definite must see! We are at O’Learys and had the same waiter both trips, and he was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, made us feel very welcome and the food was really good. We will definitely stay here for future visits. "
