The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained; the only main issue is that there's no elevator, so we had to draw our luggage for a couple stairs to reach the lobby and then three floors to the room. I was hoping that the room would be a bit bigger as it's a triple room. It's was in a quiet and clean neighborhood and we accidentally found a bar close by, quelha funda bar, which we love so much. The atmosphere was great and the draft beer was very refreshing at only 2 euro. It is a smaller hotel in a rural type town and you got that small town care from the staff. They provided us with a triple room so we could have a double bed and helped make our stay very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with fresh fried eggs and a good selection of breads and other items. Many scenic routes twisting and turning through the mountains, with tiny village houses clinging to the mountainside. I stopped my car to take photos of the morning mist filling the valley floor, with the mountains rising high above. There are monasteries and convents to visit, all centuries old. There is a safe in the room, but otherwise the room is spartan and basic - for example no rugs on the floor in the bedroom. Breakfast is fine with a good choice of food.
