Fiji Cheap Vacations

I’m very disappointed with my experience with Beachcomber Island Resort. I had a booking for 15–17 August which I had made because I was travelling to Fiji for a work meeting. Unfortunately, the meeting was postponed, meaning I could no longer travel on those dates. I contacted the resort and asked if they could provide a refund or, alternatively, a credit towards a future stay. I completely understood that my booking was non-refundable, and I was simply asking whether they could make an exception given the circumstances. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. I waited 6 days for a response to my request and had to repeatedly follow up, including calling the resort because I wasn’t getting a reply. By the time I received a response, I had very little opportunity to do anything with the booking. Had they responded promptly, I could potentially have made alternative arrangements or even given the booking to someone else. Unfortunately, the resort ultimately refused to provide either a refund or a credit. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I had the exact same situation with another hotel in Fiji during the same week, and they were understanding and provided a refund without any issues. I understand that different hotels have different policies, but I feel there should be some level of customer service and flexibility when someone contacts you in advance and is willing to rebook in the future. The staff was very helpful

We had a great time, unforunately we came during a fluke of poor weather but still made the most of it. Staff were amazing and kind, they remembered my daughters name alot. We didnt use nanny or kids club but can tell they are grest with kiddos. We used kids club facilities but stayed with her during poor weather. Toba bar and grill has a STAR staff member Kinny. She was absolutely wonderful and showed so much generosity and kindness to my little one. She always looked after us and went above and beyond. Kinny is exceptional. Adi at kids club and the leisure area to collect towels was also so beautiful and always remembered us. Staff are just welcoming from the moment you enter. The club lounge staff were also wonderful to us and to my little one making sure she was happy and comfortable. I wish I remembered all their names but they were great.

The most enjoyable part of the stay was the exceptionally helpful, friendly and entertaining staff. Some maintenance on the Bures is needed going forward. Just making sure the toilet seats are secured each time guests arrive , a mat inside the front door, and just some paint on marks would be recommended. Also a change up in the daily menu would be great. Overall we had a fun time.

Don’t come here if you don’t like sand littered with coral and seashells, swimming in amazing coral reefs, watching once in a lifetime sunrise and sunsets, swinging in hammocks between palm trees, and being the honored guests of the most kind, good-humored, talented Fijian hosts, and eating delicious food made from fresh local ingredients by a talented chef. Were the complainers in other reviews telling the truth? T or F: The only equipment available for activities were 2 kayaks, snorkel gear and a catamaran that could be reserved with a guide. - TRUE. The spa/massage was in disrepair, the face rest needed better padding but the massage therapist was excellent. - TRUE. The food at Beachcomber resort was better than Nakelo Tr. Is. - FALSE The daily activities calendar was organized and fun and the culture and language classes were worthwhile. - TRUE The infinity pool was yucky. - FALSE There was litter and broken stuff around the resort. - TRUE Some rooms had plumbing issues. - TRUE The turtle nursery was gross and not properly maintained. - FALSE As a marine biology teacher, I was so thrilled at the stewardship of the hawksbill turtles. Being in their presence is very moving. This island is the turtles’ breeding ground. There were no bugs. - FALSE Yes, there were mosquitoes. Honestly not as bad as Michigan or Alaska summer, or Florida. I think all the beautiful birds take care of the bugs… THE BEDS WERE CLEAN! TRUE.
