What an unique property! We loved it. Great location, amazing staff. We look forward to staying here again next time visiting downtown Detroit.

The room was clean and very comfortable. We had a nice stay at your hotel. The staff was usually helpful when we had questions or needed assistance. Our only note would be the “amenities” offered was the golf course, which we didn’t use. The property is called a resort but there were no resort offers such as a spa. We would still recommend this place to our friends and family. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Amway Grand Plaza overall. The location is fantastic, and having so many excellent restaurants and bars right inside the hotel is a huge plus. We had dinner at Wolfgang Puck and MDRD during our stay, and both were absolutely amazing. MDRD in particular made for a memorable evening and was one of the highlights of our weekend. Where the hotel fell short was the condition of the guest room and portions of the property beyond the beautiful main lobby. For a hotel of this caliber and price point, the rooms definitely feel dated and in need of some attention. We had drawers that would not stay closed, areas of wallpaper that were peeling, and some finishes that simply looked tired. Our biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the exterior windows in the tower. We specifically paid for a room with a river view, but the windows were extremely dirty, which really took away from something we paid extra to enjoy. There is a lot to love about the Amway Grand—the location, atmosphere, restaurants, bars, and overall convenience are excellent. We would stay again, but the guest rooms and tower windows need some attention to bring the accommodations up to the same standard as the hotel’s impressive public spaces and dining experiences.
